Whitewater Team
-
Access to club river, sea and surf boats and all the kit needed to join club sessions – no need to buy equipment before you find out if it’s for you. We have a container at Pinkston Watersports with full access to members.
-
When you are river ready, you can join our weekend river trips - all free to take part in. If you need a boat, paddle or any other equipment, you can borrow club kit for any club trip.
-
Coaching is available at almost every Pinkston session. Coaching is by club members - all volunteering - occasionally structured coaching is not available but pepper to peer support will always be on hand. If you are a beginner, you will be taught basic techniques you can then practice on sessions.
-
Every Pinkston session has a member who is responsible on the session. They are qualified as a Whitewater leader as minimum. At Pinkston they will be the ESO, on river trips they will be leading and organising the trip. Among our active members we have dozens with Advanced Whitewater Safety & Rescue qualifications at Pinkston and on trips.
-
We have funding support for members looking to gain qualifications, from White water Safety through to progressing to be a leader or coach. The success of the club is based on members “giving back”, helping beginners as many where when they first joined.
Sprint & Marathon
-
Our junior section is build to get children on the water for the first time and build their confidence. We recruit children from the ages of 8 to 12 years old.
-
We’re based at the Canal Basin at Partick Thistle Football Club and have storage facilities in the club grounds with all our kit- for all ages.
-
We’ve a team of coaches, who have unbeatable coaching sucesses with the club. With sessions early morning and early evenings almost daily, there’s sessions for all abilities and plenty of opportunity for growth
-
Being part of the club grows more than paddling skills. It’s a great social environment, but also builds confidence, teamwork, discipline and pride in doing well. It’s a really positive culture for kids to be part of.
-
Progression in the youth team is there for those who want to go on to compete. Every year we take part in regional and National regattas (and usually come back with a great collection of medals!).
